Terms and Despatch Conditions
Especially during the summer, Alderwood may not despatch on a Friday to avoid adverse weather possibly having a detrimental effect on our chocolates whilst they are in the postal or courier system.
We will endeavour to despatch your order on the same day as payment is received, although we cannot guarantee same day dispatch. We will notify you via e-mail when your order has been despatched.
All our chocolates are well packaged:
Letterbox friendly items are (not surprisingly!) able to be posted through all standard letterboxes.
The postal box which holds our chocolate hearts is unfortunately too large for letterboxes, so we recommend you ask us to post the chocolates to an address that is occupied during the day (place of work, etc.). We cannot be held responsible for hot weather melting your chocolate!
All our items are despatched via Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For service, which requires a signature at the point of delivery. Typical delivery times are between 8.00am and 6.00pm. You may wish to consider having the delivery made to an address that is occupied during the day (place of work, etc.).
Alderwood cannot be held responsible for attempted but failed deliveries due to the delivery address being unoccupied. Following a failed delivery your order may be returned to the local sorting office and you must contact them directly for you to arrange collection. Don’t forget though – letterbox friendly items are easily posted through your door!
For letterbox friendly items, or wedding favours, should any item you have ordered is out of stock we will contact you via e-mail for your choice of replacement. You also have the option to cancel your order should this situation arise.
For hampers, in the event that one or more product/s becomes unavailable, we reserve the right to replace with a similar product/s of the same or of a higher value.
As we use third parties for deliveries, Alderwood cannot be held responsible for late or delayed deliveries due to postal strikes, transport strikes and incidents, flood, drought, civil commotion, legislation.
Free Gift Cards:
Should you request a free gift card with message, we reserve the right to edit or omit any message that we feel could be interpreted to be offensive by the recipient.
Your message is limited to 25 words.
Distance Selling Directive (2000)
You have the right to cancel your order up to and within 7 days of delivery (commencing the day after your goods have been received). We will arrange a refund to your debit/visa/mastercard within 30 days of cancellation. This refund excludes postage. It is your responsibility to return the chocolates to us at your expense and using a traceable postage/courier method. Our chocolates must be returned to us with all inner packaging intact, all chocolates must be unopened and returned to us in the excellent condition in which you received them.
